Cosmelan Peel vs Melanopro Peel
Our award winning, 5* Derby clinic always aims to offer you the best treatments with visible and lasting results.
At the moment chemical peels are very popular, as winter is the best time for a resurfacing treatment. Sun exposure after a peel can increase the risk of hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) or sunburn. Sun exposure can slow down the healing process and compromise the results of the peel. Following aftercare post procedure is crucial to avoid adverse reactions.
At Neo clinic we offer superficial chemical peels that deliver results after a course of three sessions, we call these resurfacers. They have minimal to no downtime, so it is great for clients who want results without any peels.
We offer a range of medium depth peels that do lead to peeling but there is a bigger difference on the skin after only one session. We offer the overnight peels such as the melanopro peel system and cosmelan, there isn’t much difference in formulation, application and results. However, cosmelan is substantially more expensive.
The Cosmelan and Melanopro Peel System are comprehensive skin care programs to visibly reduce hyperpigmentation and skin tone irregularities. It’s a 2-phase system; The first phase is performed by a qualified skin professional in a skin clinic. The second phase is continued at home with prescribed products.
They aim to alleviate pigmentation in general, but are great for overall skin smoothening, antigeing and acne control. They are designed to alleviate:
- Predominantly melasma: Melasma typically appears as symmetrical patches of discolouration on the face, most commonly on the cheeks, forehead, nose, and upper lip.The patches can be light brown, dark brown, or gray-blue in colour.
- Treatment of sun damage: These peels can effectively treat sun-damaged skin, including age spots, freckles, and hyperpigmentation.
- Stimulation of collagen production: The peel stimulates the production of collagen, a protein responsible for skin elasticity and firmness, leading to a more youthful appearance.
- Reduced appearance of wrinkles and fine lines: Medium-depth peels can effectively diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, especially those around the eyes and mouth.
- Improved skin tone and texture: These peels can address uneven skin tone, roughness, and age spots, resulting in a smoother and more youthful complexion.
- Minimised acne scars: Medium-depth peels can help reduce the visibility of acne scars, particularly superficial ones
