Our approach

Calm first, then strengthen

Every plan follows the Neo Skin Blueprint Method, created by our Clinical Director Farrah, a neuroscientist, so reactive skin is calmed before anything else.

  1. AssessAn in-depth consultation and skin scan to understand your redness, your triggers and the state of your skin barrier.
  2. CalmSoothing, heat-free treatments and red LED to settle redness and inflammation.
  3. StrengthenRebuild a healthier skin barrier so skin reacts less over time.
  4. MaintainA simple, gentle homecare routine and regular treatments to keep skin calm.
The brain-skin connection

The neuroscience of rosacea

Rosacea is closely linked to the nerves in your skin. Sensory nerve endings react to triggers such as heat, spicy food and stress, and send out signals that widen blood vessels and switch on inflammation. This is called neurogenic inflammation.

  1. Heat sensors set off flushingNerve endings carry heat-sensing channels called TRPV1, which respond to high temperatures and to capsaicin, the compound that makes chilli hot.
  2. Nerve signals widen blood vesselsActivated nerves release messengers such as CGRP, which widens blood vessels in the skin, and substance P, which drives redness and inflammation.
  3. Stress turns up the signalStress can increase the release of these messengers from nerve endings, which is why flare-ups often follow difficult weeks.

How this shapes your treatment: we avoid heat and irritation, use calming ingredients and red LED to settle inflammation, and look at your triggers, stress and routine as part of your consultation.

FAQs

Rosacea and sensitive skin questions

Can rosacea be cured?

Rosacea cannot be cured, but it can be well controlled. Calming treatments, a gentle homecare routine and knowing your triggers can reduce redness and flare-ups over time.

What triggers rosacea flare-ups?

Common triggers include heat, sunlight, hot drinks, spicy food, alcohol, stress and harsh skincare. Triggers vary from person to person, so we look at yours at your consultation.

What is the best facial for sensitive skin?

Our Bespoke Facial, tailored to your skin on the day. For sensitive and rosacea-prone skin we combine calming ingredients and gentle technologies to reduce redness and support the skin barrier, without heat or harsh exfoliation.

Is a chemical peel safe for rosacea?

Our Sensitive Skin Peel uses shikimic acid, a gentle acid designed for sensitive and redness-prone skin. We patch test first and do not treat during an active flare.

Does LED help rosacea?

Red and near-infrared light help calm inflammation and support healing, so we build LED into treatments for sensitive skin. It is gentle, heat-free and comfortable.

How much does rosacea treatment cost in Derby?

Our skin consultation is £40. The Bespoke Facial is £80 for one hour or £150 for 90 minutes, and the Sensitive Skin Peel is £80.

Should I see my GP about rosacea?

Yes, if you have not been diagnosed, if your eyes are sore or gritty, or if you have persistent spots, swelling or thickening skin, as prescription treatment may help. Clinic treatments can work well alongside it, and we will always tell you if we think a medical opinion is needed.
